The Coalition is a grassroots collaborative effort which came together in June of 2013 specifically for the purpose of creating community-based, community-driven mural arts projects in the City of Santa Ana. The Coalition was convened and is supported by many organizational partners, who each bring a range and depth of specialized knowledge and core programming experience to the Mural Arts Project.

• The Grain Project (TGP) promotes unified, healthy, sustainable communities through urban Agriculture & Public Art. TGP offers collaborative and holistic programming, urban beautification, partnerships, and community building for self-sufficiency and empowerment.

• MC Gallery is committed to the research, production, presentation and interpretation of contemporary Latin American art. The gallery also supports emerging artists by offering opportunities and education that explore ideas at the junction of arts, performance, and culture. MC Gallery supports events tied to the community and always remains a crucible for new ideas.

In addition to our organizational partners, the Coalition involves many community leaders, arts administrators, students, educators, local artists and non-artists alike. The list of project participants represents Santa Ana community members from many different backgrounds, all-working together to make art and transform public spaces!

The mission of the Santa Ana Community Artist(a) Coalition is to connect local artists to their communities in a collaborative process to create art that transforms public spaces, generates civic engagement, and promotes personal and social change.
